AutoVox M2 Dual Lens Rearview Mirror Dash Cam

Update March 2017:
The first unit had focus issues.  Could not read any license plates out of the front camera.   They stated this was normal but I pushed for a replacement unit.  Much improved focus.
Sadly both units suffered from freezing images when going in reverse.  About 1/3 of the time instead of showing the rear camera, the screen would show frozen image from the front camera of something that occurred 10 minutes ago with the reverse lines.  None of the buttons would work.  Only solution was to power it down and restart.
Multiple firmware fixes from the seller didn't resolve.
The SD card that came with the unit also failed.
This etching on the mirror for the button controls is very hard to read.
The image on the screen at night is terrific. During daylight, the glare and the lack of brightness make it nearly unusable as a backup camera.
I so wanted this to be a success.

The  AUTO-VOX M2 1080P HD Dual lens Rearview Mirror Dash Cam with Car Recorder and Reverse Parking System, Car Rear View Backup Camera and 32GB Micro-SD Included  http://www.autovoxclub.com/index.php/Case/detail/id/19.html

  • The image was to one side of the mirror allowing me to use the rest of the mirror without interference
  • Included the Micro SD card
  • The power adapter had an extra USB charging port
  • Plenty of cable to reach the trunk
  • A simple adapter to fit under the license plate so I didn't have to drill mounting holes
  • The menu buttons didn't hang down so I can continue to use the built in garage door opener on my existing mirror
While the manual is minimal, not a lot you need to hook up.  I scanned in a copy of it (sorry each scan took a full page and I didn't want to futz with it)
The mirror is not intrusive and barely noticeable as an add-on.
Just used for a few days and happy thus far.
